QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE's HOMME Repairs Relationship With Ex-Bassist OLIVERI

March 7, 2005

Launch Radio Networks is reporting that QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE frontman Josh Homme says he's repaired his relationship with longtime bassist Nick Oliveri since Oliveri was dismissed from the band in February of 2004. Homme, who's preparing for the March 22 release of the new QUEENS album, "Lullabies To Paralyze", said he and Oliveri are on good terms. "Oh, we've been fine for eight months," he said. "It's one of those things where I don't expect people to understand, 'cause, you know, I know some people don't, and I don't expect them to, and it's just like that."

Homme added that he doesn't expect Oliveri to be back in the band any time soon, as some rumors have suggested: "No. I mean, I don't feel that that's what's important," he said. "What's important is that he and I are friends. I mean, that's why I needed to move on in the first place, is to be able to be friends, you know. I'm gonna play music no matter what, and so is he. But I'd rather be able to go have a few beers with Nick."

Homme, guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen and Alain Johannes will share bass duties on the group's upcoming North American tour, which begins on March 15 in Austin, Texas.
