QUEEN's 'We Will Rock You' Musical To Open In Toronto Tonight

Tonight, April 10, Toronto will join the five million fans worldwide who have already rocked to the London and international smash hit "We Will Rock You" at the opening of the show at the Canon Theatre. QUEEN members Brian May and Roger Taylor along with writer/director Ben Elton, will be among the show's first night audience to cheer on the all-Canadian cast for this tenth international production of the hit "living rock" musical.

Already currently scheduled performances for the Toronto run are almost sold-out and to satisfy the ticket demand, four more weeks have been added. Toronto audiences will now be able to experience the show until the extended date of May 27, 2007.

In London, "We Will Rock You" continues to pack London's Dominion Theatre. May 14 will see the show celebrate its fifth year and London ticket sales in excess of three million. The show continues to book through to late this year with a further extension into 2008 anticipated.

The all-Canadian cast features Yvan Pedneault as Galileo, Erica Peck as Scaramouche, Alana Bridgewater ("Menopause Outloud") as the Killer Queen, Evan Buliung ("The Lord Of The Rings") as Khashoggi, Jack Langedijk ("Kiss of The Spiderwoman", "A Streetcar Named Desire"),Sterling Jarvis (Disney's "The Lion King") is Badass Britney and Suzie McNeil (who was the last woman standing on "Rockstar: INXS") is Oz.

With Brian May and Roger Taylor as music supervisors, "We Will Rock You" is written and directed by Ben Elton ("The Young Ones", "Blackadder", "The Beautiful Game" and "Popcorn") and features 32 of QUEEN's greatest hits. Mark Fisher, Production Designer, and Willie Williams, Lighting Designer, have created set designs for PINK FLOYD, JANET JACKSON, THE ROLLING STONES and U2. Tim Goodchild is Costume Designer and Arlene Phillips ("Starlight Express", "Grease" and "Saturday Night Fever") is Choreographer. Bobby Aitken ("The Boyfriend", "The Fix", "Return to the Forbidden Planet", "Grease" and "Mamma Mia!") is Sound Designer.

Produced by David and Ed Mirvish and The Kimsa Group, in association with Queen Theatrical Productions, Phil McIntyre Entertainment and Tribeca Theatrical Productions, "We Will Rock You" reflects the scale and spectacle that marked QUEEN's live performances and earned the band its pinnacle position in rock history. Starting in London in 2002, "We Will Rock You" has seen productions in Australia, Spain, Russia and South Africa and is presently playing in London, Switzerland, Germany, Japan and Spain. Globally, an audience of more than five million has already seen the show and now it's Toronto's turn to rock!
