Producer: MONSTER MAGNET's New CD Has Potential To Be Band's Finest Effort Since 'Powertrip'

Producer/mixer Matt Hyde, who worked with MONSTER MAGNET on their "Powertrip" and "God Says No" releases and was in the process of producing the band's new album prior to MAGNET frontman Dave Wyndorf's drug overdose late last month, has issued the following statement regarding the status of the band's new CD:

"Due to personal reasons, MONSTER MAGNET is on hold indefinitely. However, I've been assured by MONSTER MAGNET's management that we will finish the record at some point. That's a good thing, because I believe it has the potential to be their best record since 'Powertrip'. In the meantime, I urge everyone who is a fan of the band to keep Dave in your prayers. He's got a tough time ahead of him, but I believe in him and his talent, and I think he'll make it through this and make great music in the future."

MONSTER MAGNET cancelled their European tour in order to allow Wyndorf time to receive proper medical treatment following the drug overdose.

The band's manager, Steve Davis, said Wyndorf is expected to make a full recovery.
