PROBOT Collaboration With MOTORHEAD's Lemmy Available For Download

January 31, 2002

PROBOT, the much-anticipated metal side project of former NIRVANA drummer and current FOO FIGHTERS frontman Dave Grohl, have made available for download an MP3 of the song "Shake Your Blood", featuring MOTORHEAD mainman Lemmy on lead vocals, at this location (to read the lyrics, click here). The trackwhich bears more than just a passing resemblance to classic MOTORHEADcomes off the group's forthcoming as-yet-untitled full-length CD, which is tentatively due to be released through an as-yet-undetermined label later in the year.

Shake Your Blood was recorded during December 2001 and is one of the last cuts to be completed for the above-mentioned CD, which has been in the works for much of the last year and a half. Shortly after the cut was laid down, Grohl posted a diary entry via the FOO FIGHTERS official web site at www.foofighters.com in which he referred to Lemmy as "the coolest person I've ever recorded with in my entire lifeHe is God. He is the reason. He is the last man standing and no one even comes close. That guy is a true rock 'n' roller. Everyone else is just trying. I can't even begin to explain how f.cking life-altering a day in the studio with Lemmy really is. He walks in, kicks the sh.t out of a song and then he's gone like the goddamned Lone Ranger."

As previously reported, PROBOT's upcoming CD will include a dozen-or-so tracks featuring some of metal's most celebrated and respected vocalists, including Lemmy, Cronos (VENOM),King Diamond (MERCYFUL FATE/KING DIAMOND),Tom G. Fischer (ex-CELTIC FROST),Snake (VOIVOD),Eric Wagner (TROUBLE),Tom Araya (SLAYER),Max Cavalera (SOULFLY),Mike Dean (C.O.C.),Wino (ex-THE OBSESSED) and Lee Dorrian (CATHEDRAL). Among the tracks that are set to appear on the effort are the following:
