POWERMAN 5000 To Film 'Wild World' Video This Weekend

June 9, 2006

DRT Entertainment recording artist POWERMAN 5000 will begin shooting their video for the track "Wild World" on Sunday, June 11 in Los Angeles. "Wild World" is the first single off the band's upcoming album, "Destroy What You Enjoy", due on August 1.

"We're shooting most of it in an abandoned crack house," vocalist Spider commented. "It should be pretty glamorous."

The video will showcase the band's high-energy live performance, and will be co-directed by Jeff Stewart and Spider.

"Destroy What You Enjoy" was produced by Mudrock (AVENGED SEVENFOLD, GODSMACK) — who also co-produced the band's major label debut, "Mega!! Kung Fu Radio" (1997) — and was recorded at the Hobby Shop in Eagle Rock, CA. The album was mixed by Dave Schiffman (AUDIOSLAVE, JOHNNY CASH, SYSTEM OF A DOWN).

"For this one, we dove both feet in and pretty much tracked this thing live," Spider recently told SouthBendTribune.com. "It has a much more punk rock feel to it."

"The sound that you hear on 'Destroy What You Enjoy', is the sound of a real rock 'n roll band," Spider said in a press release. "The drums aren't perfect, the guitars feedback and the vocals don't always find the right note. In other words, it's the best record we've ever made."

Joining Spider One in the band's current lineup are drummer Adrian Ost, bassist Siggy Siursen and guitarists Terry Corso (formerly with ALIEN ANT FARM) and Johnny Heatley (formerly with HALF-COCKED, the first band Spider One signed to Megatronic when it was being distributed by DreamWorks Records). Other songtitles set to appear on the follow-up to 2003's "Transform" include "Return to the City of the Dead" and "Enemies".
