PITIFUL REIGN Taps Renowned Artist ED REPKA For Debut Album

September 11, 2007

Young U.K. thrashers PITIFUL REIGN have secured the services of renowned artist Ed Repka (MUNICIPAL WASTE, MEGADETH, DEATH) to produce the artwork for their debut album, due for release early next year on Italy's Punishment 18 Records.

Punishment 18 label spokesperson Marita Mirabella previously said about the group, "I first saw PITIFUL REIGN at the ANNIHILATOR fan party at Christmas 2005. Even though Punishment 18 was still in its infancy, I knew then that we wanted to add PITIFUL REIGN to our roster. They were a revelation."

In a career that has spanned only two short years, founding bandmembers Josh Callis-Smith (vocals),Tom Small (drums),Matt Walker (bass) and new additions Nev Britton and Al Pashby (guitars) have gained a large following and a reputation for a great live show of "beer-fueled thrash metal mayhem." They were voted third best U.K. unsigned live act last year in a poll conducted by Terrorizer magazine. Other highlights in the past year have been support slots with some of the U.K. and Europe's premier bands, including '80s thrash metal icons ONSLAUGHT and XENTRIX, Germany's RECKLESS TIDE, PANIC CELL and Italy's WARCHILD.
