Photos From DIMEBAG Memorial Concert Posted Online

February 24, 2005

A number of photos from Wednesday night's (Feb. 23) benefit show in memory of slain DAMAGEPLAN/PANTERA guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott have been posted online. Check them out: Album#1, Album#2.

As previously reported, PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN drummer Vinnie Paul (Dimebag's brother) joined ANTHRAX and DISTURBED onstage during the show. Vinnie performed PANTERA's "A New Level" with ANTHRAX before sitting behind the kit with headliners DISTURBED for a rendition of the PANTERA signature song "Walk", with many other musicians joining in. A few pictures of ANTHRAX's performance — featuring Vinnie — have been posted in ANTHRAX's official forum.

The benefit concert, which took place at Chicago's Aragon Ballroom, will help cover bereavement costs for the family of DAMAGEPLAN security guard Jeffrey "Mayhem" Thompson, who was also killed, and medical expenses for DAMAGEPLAN crew members John "Kat" Brooks and Chris Paluska, who were injured during the Dec. 8, 2004 shooting spree.
