PHILIP ANSELMO Dedicates First-Ever DOWN European Show To DIMEBAG

May 20, 2006

DOWN — the acclaimed New Orleans band featuring CORROSION OF CONFORMITY guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan, drummer Jimmy Bower (EYEHATEGOD, SUPERJOINT RITUAL guitarist),bassist Rex Brown (ex-PANTERA),guitarist Kirk Windstein (CROWBAR),and vocalist Philip Anselmo (SUPERJOINT RITUAL, ex-PANTERA) — played their first-ever European show Friday night (May 19) in Hamburg, Germany. A fan who attended the gig has posted the following review on the band's official message board: "Just witnessed a historic moment last night in Grosse Freiheit, in Hamburg Germany. DOWN playing their first European show ever. First of all, it was a migthy return to the stage for both Phil and Rex, and overall the show was a blast! Even though it seemed like Phil was getting somewhat emotional about being back on stage after all the shit he's been through and at times looking a little, shall we say, disoriented, everybody in the room felt they were a part of something very special. They opened with 'Lysergik Funeral Procession' after which Phil dedicated the rest of the show to Dime and all the other comrades fallen along the way. It was obvious to everyone present that this was indeed a special evening. For me it's the best show I've been to in years. And I can only urge people who haven't already gotten tickets for the European tour to go get some. Damn, DOWN is back!"
