PHILIP ANSELMO 'Clears Things Up' On All Things OZZFEST

April 15, 2004

SUPERJOINT RITUAL/ex-PANTERA frontman Philip Anselmo has posted the following message in the "Tour Diary" section of SUPERJOINT's web site:

"This is the most infamous Philip H. Anselmo, writing to you fucks on the computer. Just to clear things up, a few hilariously dick headed (what else?) supposed 'truths' out there, about me, the 'zodiac' of music--->- catch me if you can!---> First off, the comment on blabbermouth, about me supposedly saying in my most arrogant spit: 'we will be the only true heavy metal band on ozzfest!' Not only is this THE most asinine comment ever faked, but to even begin to pat yourself on the back when there's bands like SLAYER, JUDAS H. goddamnmutherfucking PRIEST, and THE undisputed bad ass BLACK SABBATH!!! Not to mention DIMMU as well as the more well thought our, more abrasive 2nd stage. Not only did I get misquoted, it was treachery. Thanks.

"Second, the SJR (crowds, fans, martyrs...!) are insane. Every show has been unfucking believable! Actually they've been unbelievably real!! Every damn city or inbetween (we play everywhere) like Huntington West Virginia, to Johnson City, the shows are crowded with completely devoted brothers and sisters. Period. The road to total domination could prove to be not so long! Not with these type of fans and devotees! Hail Hate 666!!

"Finally, I have no fucking idea why DEICIDE didn't come on tour. So, with integrity and Satanism,

"Fuck the World, Love, P. Anselmo"

Editor's comment: For the record, the remarks attributed to Anselmo in a previous BLABBERMOUTH.NETstory came from an article originally published by SMNNews.com and were credited as such. At no time did BLABBERMOUTH.NET claim to have personally heard Anselmo utter those words.
