PESTILENCE To Begin Recording New Album In February

Guitarist/vocalist Patrick Mameli of the resurrected late '80s/early '90s death metal outfit PESTILENCE has issued the following update:

"We are working our asses of to finish composing the last two songs for [the next PESTILENCE album] 'Obsideo'. Dave [Haley, drums; also of Australia's PSYCROPTIC] is making vids for the songs and we are looking at recording drums in February. We also will do some old-school shows with songs just from the first three albums!!!! Including songs like 'Twisted Truth' and 'Commandments'!!!!!"

Songtitles set to appear on the new PESTILENCE album include "Necromorph", "Saturation", "Soulrot", "Laniatus" and "Superconcious". According to Mameli, the CD's overall lyrical theme will be "the journey of the human soul."

David Haley - Drums

PESTILENCE's latest album, "Doctrine", was released in North America in July 2011 via Mascot Records. The eleven-track CD was recorded and mixed at Woodshed Studio in southern Germany with engineer Victor Bullok (a.k.a. V. Santura; TRIPTYKON, DARK FORTRESS). The artwork was designed by Marko Saarelainen.
