June 19, 2011

Sweden Rock Magazine correspondent Daniela P. recently conducted an interview with FIREWIND and OZZY OSBOURNE guitarist Gus G. (real name: Kostas Karamitroudis) for her blog, In The Rearview Mirror. You can now watch the chat in below.

Gus G. (was honored with the "Dimebag Darrell Shredder" award at this past Monday night's (June 13) Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards ceremony at indigO2 in London, England. Gus couldn't be there in person to accept his award as he is on the road with Ozzy, but he did send a short video thanking the fans and Metal Hammer magazine for their support.

OZZY OSBOURNE's new album, "Scream", sold 81,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 4 on The Billboard 200 chart. It has since shifted more than 270,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.

FIREWIND will embark on its first-ever North American headlining tour, dubbed the "Frets of Fury", in the fall. Support on the trek, which is scheduled to kick off on October 9, will come from ARSIS, WHITE WIZZARD and NIGHTRAGE.

Gus G.'s instructional DVD for Rock House, "Lead & Rhythm Techniques", was released in October 2010. In this program, Gus reveals the secrets that have propelled him into the guitar stratosphere and shows you how to incorporate them into your playing.
