OZZY OSBOURNE At Work On 'Rasputin' Musical

July 13, 2005

Launch Radio Networks reports: Ozzy Osbourne will take a bit of homework out with him on this year's Ozzfest tour. Osbourne is working on a musical about controversial Russian politician Grigory Rasputin with songwriter Mark Hudson, who's collaborated with AEROSMITH and Ringo Starr. Osbourne told Launch that the project began 10 years ago with a song he and Hudson wrote for his "Ozzmosis" album. "We wrote a song called 'Rasputin', but then it never got used, you know," he said. "And then every now and again I'd try to find this tape of songs. We wrote a bunch of songs together, and I put this tape on and thought, 'You know what? That would be a great musical.' It kind of grew on its own."

Osbourne and Hudson are working on songs now and looking for someone to help script the musical. Osbourne said that he's received interest in the project from producers considering everything from Broadway to a touring show.

Osbourne will perform with BLACK SABBATH at this year's Ozzfest, which begins Friday (July 15) in Mansfield, Massachusetts.
