OVERCAST Album Update

October 6, 2006

In a forthcoming interview with the U.K.'s PowerPlay magazine (web site),KILLSWITCH ENGAGE bassist Mike D'Antonio gives more details about when the recently recorded OVERCAST CD will become available. D'Antonio's pre-KILLSWITCH band which also featured SHADOWS FALL vocalist Brian Fair, OVERCAST recently reformed and played the New England Hardcore and Metal Festival.

Commented D'Antonio: "We don't yet know who the label is going to be. The unfortunate part is that, despite finishing the record in May, every label we talked to said that they couldn’t put out the record until fall 2007. That's kind of a bummer — when you finish something that you really proud of that you have to wait a whole year almost to put it out. But that was the case; otherwise we would have signed to a label straight away and put it out. But with people telling us that we had to wait anyway, we decided to take our time. The album itself was self-funded so we didn't have anyone telling us we could or couldn't do, and Adam [-Dutkiewicz, KILLSWITCH guitarist and metal producer extraordinaire] did a really bang-up job on the production so we're really excited about it. After accepting that this record wouldn't be out until 2007, it was really easy to just settle down and put into perspective what we needed to do with the record."

Mike also talks in-depth about the new KILLSWITCH album, "As Daylight Dies", and the band's plans for touring it. The full interview will appear in the next issue of PowerPlay magazine.
