ORANGE GOBLIN, Ex-IRON MONKEY Members Join Forces In RAVENS CREED

July 4, 2006

ORANGE GOBLIN members Ben Ward (vocals) and Martyn Millard (bass) have teamed up with guitarist Steve Watson (ex-IRON MONKEY, CEREBRAL FIX) and drummer Jason Graham (ex-RETURN TO THE SABBAT, TONY IOMMI) in a new project called RAVENS CREED. The group, whose sound is being described as "a throwback to '80s metal in the vein of CELTIC FROST, VENOM and a bit of Swedish-style death metal," have uploaded several instrumental demos on their official MySpace profile.

ORANGE GOBLIN recently announced plans to enter the studio to record a cover of "New Rose" by THE DAMNED for the upcoming "Sucking The '70s II" compilation. The band was also scheduled to record its first new material since "Theiving from the House of God" in 2004. "We are looking forward to doing two new songs with Craig Riggs (SCISSORFIGHT, ANTLER, ROADSAW, FIVE HORSE JOHNSON) at Mad Oak Studios in Boston, MA," the band wrote on their web site. "The working titles for the songs so far are 'They Come Back (Harvest of Skulls)' and 'The Ballad of Solomon Eagle'."
