OPIATE FOR THE MASSES: Acoustic Performance From KQXR Posted Online

August 18, 2008

Vocalist Ron Underwood of the Los Angeles industrial rock band OPIATE FOR THE MASSES recently completed a trek of in-studio acoustic performances throughout some major radio markets. Underwood proves what an accomplished and versatile performer he truly is taking on the tasks of playing these songs all on his own. The results speak volumes, so click here to check out his performance on KQXR in Boise, which features acoustic versions of "Dead Underground" and "Burn You Down" (featuring Jim Kaufman on guitar).

OPIATE FOR THE MASSES recently took part in a successful North American trek alongside FILTER and 10 YEARS, which was preceded by a stint of headlining radio-sponsored shows. Footage from their sold-out show in Boise, ID has been uploaded to the band's new YouTube channel.

"Burn You Down", the new video from OPIATE FOR THE MASSES, can be viewed below (courtesy of Woozyfly.com). The clip was shot in Burbank, California with director David Brodsky (HELMET, ALL AMERICAN REJECTS, THE RED CHORD, 12 TRIBES). The track comes off the group's new album, "Manifesto", which was released on July 8 via Century Media Records.

OPIATE FOR THE MASSES created a solid buzz and diehard fanbase with its self-produced debut album, "The Spore", backed by a slew of major tours alongside AVENGED SEVENFOLD, DISTURBED, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE and STATIC-X, among countless others. They were also a featured act on the inaugural Taste of Chaos tour.
