ONSLAUGHT Cancels U.K. Dates

May 4, 2007

Reactivated U.K. thrashers ONSLAUGHT have been forced to cancel the remaining dates on their British tour due to a serious health issue concerning vocalist Sy Keeler.

The ONSLAUGHT frontman was rushed to hospital during the soundcheck at Leeds Rio's suffering from an acute loss of vision. Keeler has since undergone an emergency operation to repair a detached retina in his left eye. If it was not for this immediate procedure the doctors said he would have almost certainly lost the sight in this eye.

Following the band's announcement to the audience that evening regarding the situation, the other ONSLAUGHT members were taken aback by the overwhelming warmth and support showed to them by the enthusiastic Rio's crowd. This compelled the band to quickly reorganize and power through a few chosen classics with guitarist Nige Rockett handling the bulk of the vocal duties.

Speaking from hospital, a distraught Sy Keeler expressed his sincere apologies to all the fans that were looking forward to the first leg of the "Killing Peace" tour and is hoping to be fit enough to hit the road as soon as is humanly possible.

ONSLAUGHT is currently looking into rescheduling the cancelled dates for later in the year.

ONSLAUGHT's new album, "Killing Peace", was released in Europe on March 5 via Candlelight Records, "Killing Peace" was recorded at Backstage studio in Derbyshire, England with producer Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, MACHINE HEAD, ARCH ENEMY, NEVERMORE).

ONSLAUGHT's current lineup includes Sy Keeler (vocals),Nige Rockett (guitars),Steve Grice (drums),James Hinder (bass) and the group's latest addition, guitarist Alan Jordan (ex-MIRROR MIRROR, FRANKENSTEIN).
