ONSLAUGHT And BENEDICTION Will Not Appear At Germany's HELLFLAME Festival

September 21, 2007

Vocalist Sy Keeler of the reactivated British thrashers ONSLAUGHT has sent the following update to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:

"ONSLAUGHT and BENEDICTION will not be appearing at the Hellflame - South Side of Hell festival in Lichtenfels Germany this Saturday, September 22. This was due to local government interference which in turn led the promoter to make a decision not to fly in any of the international bands booked to play the festival.

"We are obviously very disappointed with the decision. We played at Hellflame Festival in Osnabruck, Germany on September 8 without incident. As usual, a well-behaved metal congregation.

"The festival organisers have done everything possible to get the full lineup onstage. The police opposed the show initially claiming it could be a covert Nazi meeting!!!!!! The promoter has previously organised punk rock shows and has fought against racism and Nazis for many years."

ONSLAUGHT released its first live DVD, "Live Polish Assault 2007", in July via Metal Mind Productions. The disc contains more than an hour of veritable thrash mayhem filmed during the band's gig on February 12, 2007 at the Stodola Club in Warsaw, Poland (see preview clip below). The DVD also includes an interview with guitarist Nige Rockett and vocalist Sy Keeler, bonus live video footage from the band's gigs in Japan and Holland, as also bonus audio tracks from the gig at Bristol Colston Hall in 1987 (featuring ONSLAUGHT's very first live performance of "Let There Be Rock")!

ONSLAUGHT's new album, "Killing Peace", was released in March via Candlelight Records. The CD was recorded at Backstage studio in Derbyshire, England with producer Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, MACHINE HEAD, ARCH ENEMY, NEVERMORE).
