OBITUARY, SIX FEET UNDER, ASSUCK Members Join Forces In EXITSECT

November 21, 2008

EXITSECT is the name of a brand new Tampa, Florida-based "dark, experimental, atmospheric, doom-ridden death metal" band comprised of veterans of the metal and punk scenes. Former and current members of ASSUCK, OBITUARY, SIX FEET UNDER, DOWN BY LAW, DENIAL FIEND and PAINEATER have joined forces to create menacing, heavy tones with guttural vocals and dense, moody soundscapes. Driving tempos are accompanied by thick guitars and electronic accents.

With influences ranging from NEUROSIS, WINTER, AMEBIX and CELTIC FROST to SWANS, GODFLESH and MORBID ANGEL, there is no clear future musical direction except gloomy and crushing. Sometimes saturnine, sometimes ambient, sometimes melodic and mid-paced... the goal is always overwhelming malaise.

The band recorded its first song, "Embrace of the Pale Rope", at GL and Mana Studios with Brian Elliot at the mixing board and has made it available for streaming on the official EXITSECTMySpace page.

EXITSECT is currently seeking a record deal and plans to hit the road once the group's full-length debut has been released.

EXITSECT is:

* Paul Pavlovich (ASSUCK, TRACK THE CURSE) - Vocals
* Greg Gall (SIX FEET UNDER) - Drums
* Frank Watkins (OBITUARY) - Bass
* Sam Williams (DOWN BY LAW, DENIAL FIEND, MASSACRE, PSEUDO HEROES) - Guitar
* Joe Kiser (MURDER SUICIDE PACT, PAINEATER, SLAP OF REALITY) - Guitar
* Aleks Vasic (KURSK - INFINITE) - Electronic Ornamentation
