Norwegian Band THE CUMSHOTS Accept Fine For Sex Stunt

August 29, 2004

Norway's Aftenposten is reporting that two members of THE CUMSHOTS have decided to accept the NOK 10,000 fine imposed after a couple had sex on stage at their show during the Quart festival in July. The couple, whose performance was part of their political activism to save the rain forest, and the festival organizers have refused to pay and must appear in court.

The festival organization was fined NOK 50,000 ($7,400) for their failure to react to the public sex performance. The couple, Tommy Hol Ellingsen and Leona Johansson, self-proclaimed environmental activists behind Fuck for Forest, have said they will go to jail before they will pay a fine.

The pair now plan to move to Berlin for pornographic projects that they intend to use to raise money for to protect rain forests, newspaper Dagbladet reported. Ellingsen, Johansson and each of the band members of THE CUMSHOTS have been fined NOK 10,000 ($1,485) each by local police.

Ellingson told Dagbladet's web site that Kristopher Schau, celebrity frontman for THE CUMSHOTS, was a puny coward and promised to criticize the band. Schau, also a high-profile comedian and stunt performer, and CUMSHOTS bassist Ole Petter Andreassen accepted the fine in order to avoid lengthy legal entanglements.
