NORMA JEAN Drops Off SILVERSTEIN Tour

April 6, 2009

Georgia's post-hardcore outfit NORMA JEAN has dropped off the U.S. tour featuring SILVERSTEIN, BLESS THE FALL and BEFORE THEIR EYES. The band says, "There are just too many reasons to list in the wake of us making this decision and we aren't looking to embark on an Internet crusade; that just isn't necessary. We have never left a tour in our career and we have a touring history now of ten years and counting, and in that time we have made it a priority to tour almost non-stop and have probably toured more than most of our peers from our generation of bands. It's how we have anything to show for where we are now and we don't take it for granted.

"Many apologies to anyone who bought tickets expecting NORMA JEAN to be at these shows, we care very deeply for our fans and we thank all of you who were coming to support us. We know that we are making the right decision for our band, our business, and our personal lives."

"On a side note: the shows we did make it to were amazing, we all had a blast during our set and love how nuts some of you guys are. Thanks for coming!

"We believe we are coming upon a great time for NORMA JEAN. We are extremely excited about the future of our music and our future with all of you. Without all of you, none of this is possible. We plan to get right back to writing and with that we plan on releasing something totally new, and in addition, paying homage to how this band began by digging deep into our roots musically. Get stoked!

"We will absolutely be back to your cities as soon as humanly possible and we’ll hook you guys up one way or another. If we have to come and play in your basement, we’ll make it up to ya. You can count on that! God Bless."

HardTimes.ca conducted an interview with NORMA JEAN on March 19, 2009 when the band made a stop in Montreal, Quebec during its Canadian tour with UNDEROATH. Watch the 25-minute chat below.
