New DROWNING POOL Singer Did 'Adequate' Job At Dallas OZZFEST

August 26, 2005

According to the Star-Telegram, new DROWING POOL singer Ryan McCombs (formerly of SOIL) did an "adequate job" covering the group's four-year-old songs such as "Sinner" during the band's debut live appearance with McCombs at yesterday's Ozzfest in Dallas, Texas. However, during their 20-minute set, "the band never acknowledged the obvious — folks, here's our new singer — which was supposedly the whole point," according to Star-Telegram writer Teresa Gubbins.

McCombs joined DROWNING POOL as the replacement for Jason "Gong" Jones, who left the band in early June. The revamped group are expected to begin recording their third album later in the year for an early 2006 release via Wind-Up Records.
