NECROMANTIA: Video Interview With MAGUS WAMPYR DAOLOTH Available

January 22, 2008

Vasilis Mazaris and Elena Mihailidou of Metalzone.gr recently conducted an interview with bassist/vocalist Magus Wampyr Daoloth of the Greek black metal pioneers NECROMANTIA. Magus talks about the band's latest album, "The Sound of Lucifer Blasting Heaven", his musical/lyrical influences, and how difficult it's been to embody his vision in music that is played with two basses and no guitar at all. He also talks about the future plans of the band and his view on the metal scene today as well as the production in black metal. He speaks out about the "plastic" sound he finds everywhere in metal today and the way the internet has effected the music scene as a whole. Magus also reveals that NECROMANTIA will release a split 7" EP with ROTTING CHRIST.

Watch the interview below.

Formed in 1989, NECROMANTIA was at the forefront of the second wave of black metal alongside DARKTHRONE, EMPEROR, SAMAEL, ENSLAVED, IMPALED NAZARENE, ROTTING CHRIST and BURZUM, among others. Their unique music style and dedication to the "black arts" established them as one of the leading bands from southern Europe along with their countrymates ROTTING CHRIST.
