NAPALM DEATH Cover SEPTIC DEATH During Recording Sessions For New CD

July 27, 2002

NAPALM DEATH have laid down cover versions of two tracks from the classic hardcore act SEPTIC DEATH (led by Pushead, who is better known for his METALLICA artwork) during the recording sessions for their forthcoming CD, tentatively entitled Order Of The Leech, at Chapel Studios in Lincolnshire, England. According to bassist Shane Embury, "the tracks 'Terror Rain' and 'Thaw' have turned out cool so they should surface sometime soon."

As for the new NAPALM DEATH album, Embury stated that "all is now going well — a few vocal tracks to do and some more guitars before we get in to the mixing stage but so far it's sounding super heavy and fast."

As reported here a couple of days ago, Embury and guitarist Jesse Pintado were forced to cancel their appearance with LOCKUP (which also features in its ranks former AT THE GATES/THE CROWN frontman Tomas Lindberg, and DIMMU BORGIR drummer Nick Barker) due to scheduling conflicts related to the ongoing NAPALM sessions. Said Embury: "Quite simply what happened is other bands using the studio overran and we could not get into the studio to start recording our album until last week. Schedules being what they are we are unable to do anything else — we have to deliver an album. The rest of the guys from LOCKUP were cool but we hope the fans will understand."

In the meantime, check out a couple of photos taken during the recording sessions for NAPALM DEATH's Order Of The Leech at these locations: Barney, Mitch, Shane.
