MOTRHEAD's LEMMY KILMISTER Is First In LOCOAPE's Icon Figure Series

Locoape, which entered into an agreement with licensing powerhouse Bravado International in early 2007 for figural rights of the infamous heavy metal band MOTRHEAD, is ready to launch with the release of the Lemmy Icon Figure (image). Rickenbacker USA, Lemmy's longtime endorser has also granted rights for the figure to come complete with the first-ever licensed, miniature Rickenbacker bass guitar.

Locoape, the newly formed Chicago-based manufacturer, produces an array of both licensed and proprietary branded products with an emphasis on toys, collectibles, trends and popular culture.

Slated to begin shipping March 26, the Lemmy Icon Figure is available for pre-order at LemmyFigure.com where exclusive limited editions of the item are available. An edition of 2,500 pieces is one exclusive that includes an individually numbered MOTRHEAD "Ace of Spades" playing card as well as an authentic D'Andrea Lemmy guitar pick. Also available is an autographed edition limited to only 50 pieces world wide

"We're very excited to be able to introduce the Locoape brand to the public with an iconic license such as MOTRHEAD. Lemmy is an artist that defines modern hard rock and metal music," said Locoape CCO Michael Romano.

According to Locoape President Steve Loney, "When we first began to develop the Icon series brand we wanted to first solidify just who the Icons are. Much was debated, but Lemmy was instantly at the top of that list. With so many Iconic artists in development and the roster we've secured we're already planning in to 2010! People are really going to be surprised just who and what we're developing."

Romano added, "Beginning with Lemmy, we've strived to create the Icon series as an ongoing brand of true show piece collectibles. Collectibles that include the artist's input and offers the fans and collector an item with the quality and integrity that they deserve."

What does Lemmy have to say about being immortalized in plastic? According to Lemmy, the figure will depict "the best-looking ugly man you'll ever see."
