MOONSPELL Video To Debut on MTV2's 'Headbanger's Ball' This Weekend

September 8, 2006

Tune into "Headbanger's Ball" this Saturday September 9 on MTV2 at 10:00 p.m. EST to catch the debut of MOONSPELL's stunning new video for "Finisterra". The song is the lead-off track on MOONSPELL's new album, "Memorial", which was released by SPV/Steamhammer earlier this year.

"'Finisterra' is quite simply a video which showcases a band (MOONSPELL) playing at the end of the Earth, AFTER the end of the Earth. The scenario is quite apocalyptic and aesthetically relates to the cover artwork in which the red color is dominant as a symbol of commitment, honor and passion," explains vocalist Fernando Ribeiro. "'Finisterra' is a Latin expression which literally means the end (Finis) of the earth (terra) and it is a song about isolation. The video follows along these lines with images, artifacts and expressions which symbolize the desperation of being alone, in the inside and here in the outside."

There is currently a second video in progress for the song "Luna" which is scheduled to be available some time in October, just before MOONSPELL hits the road on their headlining tour with KATATONIA and DAYLIGHT DIES. The "Nocturnal Mourning" tour kicks off October 20 in Poughkeepsie, NY and will wrap up on November 19 in Hartford, CT.
