MISERY LOVES CO. Reunite For One-Off Swedish Wedding Performance

August 10, 2005

Swedish industrial metal combo MISERY LOVES CO. reunited on stage this past Saturday August 6. The spontaneous reunion occurred at musician Patrik Sporrong's (ex-MIDAS TOUCH, LOST SOULS) wedding in Uppsala, Sweden. MISERY LOVES CO. took advantage of the "open stage" at the post-cermemony party and performed the songs "My Mind Still Speaks" and "Kiss Your Boots".

"It was fun, but no one should expect anything else from MISERY LOVES CO. in the future. However, I look forward to my new career as a wedding singer and expect million-dollar offers to start pouring in," singer Patrik Wirén quipped to BLABBERMOUTH.NET.

The lineup for this one-off performance consisted of core of the band, Wirén and guitarist Örjan Örnkloo, as well as guitarist Michael Hahne (a member of the band 1997-2000) and bassist Richard Sporrong (cousin and best man to Patrik Sporrong as well as member of the band 1997-99). Joining them was drummer Bosse Lundström, who played with MISERY LOVES CO. 1994-95.

MISERY LOVES CO. split up in 2000 following the release of their third album, "Your Vision Was Never Mine To Share". Patrik Wirén currently sings with the alternative rock group ALPHA SAFARI, who released their debut album, "Commercial Suicide", on Threeman Recordings last year. Meanwhile, Örjan Örnkloo is a succesful sound engineer at producer Daniel Bergstrand's (IN FLAMES, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, MESHUGGAH) studio Dug-Out in Uppsala.
