MICHAEL SCHENKER, ULI JON ROTH To Support SCORPIONS In UK

According to a posting on the Michael Schenker News And Tour Information web site, legendary guitarist Michael Schenker (ex-SCORPIONS, UFO) and Uli Jon Roth will support the SCORPIONS (featuring Michael's brother Rudolf on guitar) on the German hard rock band's UK tour in October. The dates are as follows:

Oct. 12 - Newcastle, England - Academy *
Oct. 13 - Glasgow, Scotland - Academy
Oct. 15 - Manchester, England - Apollo
Oct. 16 - Southhampton, England - Guildhall
Oct. 18 - London, England - Hammersmith Apollo
Oct. 19 - Wolverhampton, England - Civic Hall

* featuring SCHENKER/BARDEN ACOUSTIC TRIO

EMI Catalogue has set a September 15 UK release date for "The Best Of The Michael Schenker Group: 1980-1984", a collection of album tracks, live cuts and b-sides and four tracks previously only available on import.

MICHAEL SCHENKER GROUP's new album, "In the Midst of Beauty", was released on May 13 via Inakustic GMBH. The CD features returning MSG singer Gary Barden, drummer Simon Philips (THE WHO, TOTO),bassist Neil Murray (BLACK SABBATH, WHITESNAKE) and keyboardist Don Airey (DEEP PURPLE, OZZY OSBOURNE).

Schenker recently toured the UK under the MICHAEL SCHENKER & FRIENDS banner.
