MICHAEL MONROE Performs With SLASH At Finland's RUISROCK Festival; Video Available

July 13, 2010

Former HANOI ROCKS frontman Michael Monroe joined Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N' ROSES) on stage at the Ruisrock festival in Turku, Finland on July 9 to perform the songs "We're All Gonna Die" and "Up Around The Bend".

Fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be viewed below.

Slash and Fergie will perform together at the third annual Sunset Strip Music Festival in late August, where Slash is being honored with a special ceremony. The pair will perform on Saturday, August 28, during the outdoor portion of the street festival, which is being headlined by the SMASHING PUMPKINS. The legendary Sunset Strip is being closed to traffic for the event, which begins on August 26 and will feature performances at every venue in the immediate area.

Fergie contributes vocals to a cut on Slash's recently released debut solo album and the guitarist told The Pulse of Radio how that came together. "When I was doing this record, I had this one song that sounded very sort of sexy and like — so I called her up and I went over to her house and I gave her a tape of it, and then she called me up a week later and she goes, 'Yeah, I've got lyrics and melodies for that,'" he said. "And she came over to my demo studio and put down 'Beautiful Dangerous' and I was just enamored with the whole thing. I was like, 'Wow, this is great.'"

Also performing with Slash at the event will be ALTER BRIDGE frontman Myles Kennedy, who also sings on Slash's album and is the vocalist for his touring band.

August 26 will be declared "Slash Day" by the city of West Hollywood.

More than 50 other local and national artists will appear at the Sunset Strip Music Festival, including former GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler's band ADLER'S APPETITE.

Michael Monroe will be the "special guest" on MOTÖRHEAD's 35th-anniversary tour in November.
