METALMANIA FESTIVAL 2008: First Details Announced

May 8, 2007

The 22nd edition of Metalmania Festival — the biggest metal fest in Central-Eastern Europe — will take place on March 8, 2008 at the Spodek Hall in Katowice, Poland. As usual, there will be two stages where over 20 bands will perform for thousands of metal freaks.

Metalmania Festival has a long and great history. Running for over 20 years, it has become the biggest and the most important metal festival in Poland. Its name is also very well known outside Poland and, every year, it brings more and more foreign visitors.

In March 2007 Metal Mind Productions released "Metalmania 2006" DVD+CD. The DVD includes highlights of memorable performances by such great metal acts as MOONSPELL, ACID DRINKERS, ANATHEMA, NEVERMORE, VESANIA, 1349, HUNTER and HIERONYMUS BOSCH, among others. The CD serves as an introduction to some of the other interesting, if not as popular, acts that performed on the side stage of the festival.

The 2007 edition of the festival, which took place on March 24, included appearances by such great bands as TESTAMENT, PARADISE LOST, MY DYING BRIDE, ENTOMBED, and JORN, to name a few. BLAZE BAYLEY's and DARZAMAT's shows were recorded for the future DVD releases.

Bands interested in performing on the side stage at Metalmania 2008 can send their application (bio, link to web site, link to mp3 files etc) to the following e-mail address: [email protected]. Deadline: November 30, 2007.
