METALLICA's LARS ULRICH Congratulates U.K.'s CLASSIC ROCK Magazine On 200th Issue (Video)

July 19, 2014

A six-minute video message from METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich congratulating Classic Rock magazine on its 200th issue can be seen below.

"[Classic Rock's] Geoff Barton and I go back a very long time," says Ulrich. "I would read every word every word he wrote in Sounds magazine, and all the bands he championed. You could even argue that Geoff Barton was indirectly responsible for that fact that I wanted to be in a band."

Ulrich goes on to say, "Classic Rock is a great magazine. I get it sent every month at home. I actually have a subscription... I read the magazine from back to front and front to back."

Classic Rock's special 244-page anniversary edition features brand new interviews with 200 of the biggest rock stars on the planet, from Jimmy Page, Slash and BLACK SABBATH to Billy Gibbons, Steven Tyler, KISS' Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons, and Nick Mason of PINK FLOYD.

If that wasn't enough, then issue comes with a free 12-track CD titled "The Soundtrack Of Our Life", featuring the bands and the songs that shaped the first 200 issues — from such icons as Slash, Alice Cooper, DIO and JOURNEY to the new generation as represented by Joe Bonamassa, BLACK STONE CHERRY and PORCUPINE TREE. There's also shiny collector’s cover, complete with loads of band logos rendered in gold (warning: not actually rendered in actual gold).

The 200th edition of Classic Rock can be ordered online.
