METALLICA To Make Surprise Appearance At U.K.'s DOWNLOAD Festival?

May 29, 2003

METALLICA are almost certain to make a surprise appearance on Sunday, June 1 at the Download festival in Donington, U.K., according to Metal Hammer.

A reputable source close to the band claimed that, "METALLICA are sure to perform a stripped-down and reduced set on the second stage sometime during the late afternoon."

The surprise show will mark bassist Robert Trujillo's U.K. debut and will be the U.K.'s first opportunity to hear the first new METALLICA songs in six years ahead of the "St Anger" album, due in Europe on June 9 through the Mercury label.
