METALLICA To Headline Greece's ROCKWAVE FESTIVAL

February 14, 2007

METALLICA will headline the 11th edition of the Rockwave Festival, set to take place July at 1-3 Terra Vibe in Malakasa, Greece. METALLICA will perform on July 3. Pre-sale for the concert will begin on February 21. METALLICA fan club members will be given priority when it comes to purchasing tickets. General admission tickets will cost 60 euros, Pitch A 80 euros and Distinguished Area 100 euros.

Commented METALLICA: "We haven't been there for eight years... and looking very much forward to coming back to Athens, Greece."

As previously reported, METALLICA has also been confirmed for the Werchter Rock festival on July 1 in Werchter, Belgium.

METALLICA is scheduled to enter the studio in March to begin recording its new album, tentatively due later this year. Drummer Lars Ulrich, singer-guitarist James Hetfield, guitarist Kirk Hammett and bassist Rob Trujillo began work on the follow up to 2003's "St. Anger" while on tour during the past year backstage before each show. "We did something we'd never done before: We carried a ProTools (recording) system with us," Ulrich told Rolling Stone magazine. "Twenty minutes before stage time, we would go into a room and play, to get the machinery moving. They were jams, riffs, fun and games. And they were recorded."
