METALLICA's Canadian concerts in Quebec City and Ottawa on October 31, November 1 and November 3 were professionally filmed by longtime METALLICA video director Wayne Isham, with drummer Lars Ulrich telling the crowd from the stage at the second Quebec City show, "I couldn't think of a better city for METALLICA to film a DVD." METALLICA is releasing a concert DVD in France next Tuesday (November 17) that was shot in that country. Although it will not be available in U.S. stores, "Francais Pour Une Nuit" can be purchased through the band's website.

There's no word on when the Canadian-shot DVD will surface, and if it will be a Canada-only release.

Meanwhile, METALLICA has announced five shows in South and Central America for early 2010, with the band visiting two cities — Panama City, Panama, and San Jose, Costa Rica — that it has never played before. The group will also hit Lima, Peru, Bogota, Columbia and Caracas, Venezuela. All the shows are in March except for Lima, which takes place on January 19.
