METALLIANCE TOUR: Chicago Date Moved Due To Gang-Related Activity

March 24, 2011

THE 2011 Metalliance Tour will have to move its Chicago show this Sunday, March 27 due to recent gang-related activity in the vicinity of the venue. The city has imposed a seven-day hold on the venue's operations license forcing the show to a new venue called bada brew (802 Theodore Street). The show will go on as scheduled. All tickets will be honored.

The 2011 Metalliance Tour has enjoyed early success with two sold-out shows on its inaugural run thus far. It is headlined by HELMET, ST VITUS and CROWBAR, with support from metal heavyweights KYLESA, RED FANG, HOWL and ATLAS MOTH on all dates.

Legendary alternative metal band HELMET is performing its 1992 platinum-selling release of "Meantime" in its entirety. The Interscope Records release gave the band mainstream attention with songs like "Unsung" and "In The Meantime".

One of the most highly influential doom metal bands in America, SAINT VITUS are regarded as one of the first bands of the genre starting out as early as the 1970s. The band featuring Scott "Wino" Weinrich, bassist Mark Adams, guitarist Dave Chandler and new drummer Henry Vasquez have influenced so many bands in doom and metal .
