Metalcore Label FACEDOWN Inks Deal With RED DISTRIBUTION

May 24, 2006

RED Distribution and Facedown Records have finalized terms for an exclusive distribution agreement, it was announced today by Bob Morelli, Executive Vice President and General Manager, RED Distribution and Jason Dunn, President and Founder/Owner, Facedown Records.

Under the new agreement, RED will partner with Facedown to maximize visibility and exposure for a variety of new and upcoming Facedown releases, including FLEE THE SEEN, INKED IN BLOOD, NODES OF RANVIER, BLOODLINED CALLIGRAPHY, WAR OF AGES, A LOVE FOR ENEMIES and others. RED and Facedown will collaborate on integrated distribution campaigns combining marketing tools ranging from t-shirts to album art to website design.

With a focus on long term development for artists on the Facedown roster, RED will broaden the reach of the Facedown brand in both Christian and secular hard music markets targeting existing and potential fan bases through a variety of strategies ranging from traditional retail placement to new media initiatives.

"We are excited to be in business with Facedown Records," said Mr. Morelli. "Jason has tapped into one of the most vital emerging genres in the contemporary music scene. He knows and loves his bands and their music and he understands the needs and drives of their fans. Facedown is already becoming one of the great lifestyle music companies in the world, a recognizable imprint that's known and respected for the integrity of its signings and the power of its music. I look forward to working with Jason and Facedown in bringing the label to the next level and helping to find its artists the success they deserve."

"I brought Facedown into this deal with RED based on RED's long-running history of excellence in the field of distribution," said Mr. Dunn. "Over the years, I've seen what RED has accomplished with labels like Ferret, Metal Blade, Victory, Trustkill, The Militia Group and others and I wanted to give the artists on Facedown the opportunity to achieve that kind of credibility and success through the power of a distribution system that believes in their art and their music. RED has the creative vision and the distribution network in place to give our artists and their fans the widest possible access to their music."

Facedown Records was founded nine years ago in Menifee, California by Jason Dunn, the former drummer for NO INNOCENT VICTIMS. By 2003, Facedown had grown to become one of the most viable labels on the SoCal metalcore scene with a roster of bands appealing to both Christian and secular hard music audiences. For the past seven years, the label has played host to an annual two-day Facedown Fest in California showcasing the range and breadth of its roster. In November 2005, an east coast version of the Facedown Fest was held in Annapolis, Maryland.
