MERCYFUL FATE Guitarist To Record Solo Album

MERCYFUL FATE/FORCE OF EVIL guitarist Hank Shermann has announced plans to record a solo album, tentatively due in March 2007. "I have 'tons' of ideas and unused material dating back to the days of MERCYFUL FATE in the early '80s , and also it will be my 30-year anniversary as a guitar player," Shermann states. No further information is currently available.

In other news, FORCE OF EVIL — which also features guitarist Michael Denner (ex-MERCYFUL FATE),bassist Hal Patino (KING DIAMOND),drummer Bjarne Holm (MERCYFUL FATE),and vocalist Martin Steene (IRON FIRE) — are on a break until the summer. "Hal Patino is doing a KING DIAMOND European tour and Martin Steene is pushing IRON FIRE's latest release, 'Revenge'," says Shermann. "In the meantime, I'm working with U.S. rock-girl Rachelle Ramm (web site),getting songs created for a future album."
