MEMFIS Confirmed For Sweden's PEACE & LOVE Festival

Swedish progressive metal band MEMFIS has been confirmed for the Peace & Love festival, set to take place June 28-30 in the center of Borlänge, Sweden. Also scheduled to appear are VADER, BEHEMOTH MESHUGGAH, HAMMERFALL, CRASHDIET, IGGY & THE STOOGES, HANOI ROCKS, SABATON, MORGANA LEFAY and DOZER, among others.

In 2006, the festival organizers began to invite more metal bands to the event, which has previously featured performances by bands such as DARK TRANQUILLITY, SOILWORK, THE HAUNTED, TOTALT JÄVLA MÖRKER, ENGEL, KHOMA, BURST, ENTOMBED, HANOI ROCKS, DEATHSTARS and NEW YORK DOLLS.

Peace & Love is one of Scandinavia's fastest-growing festivals. The concept of this festival spreads the message of diversity, solidarity and understanding. It's about crossing borders and bringing differing cultures from near and afar together. The organizers are trying to get people to change their attitudes towards themselves and others. At theme days (prior to the festival), the visitors can attend to debates and lectures as well as participate in workshops and discussions regarding the years special theme. This year's theme: Revolution. Former SEX PISTOLS and NEW YORK DOLLS manager Malcolm McLaren will also perform an exclusive audiovisual retrospective show.
