MELDRUM Singer Releases New Solo Recordings

February 1, 2008

Vocalist Moa Holmsten of MELDRUM — the Swedish/American band led by former PHANTOM BLUE guitarist Michelle Meldrum (wife of EUROPE axeman John Norum) — has posted new versions of her solo tracks "Bulldozer" and "Dance Sing Dream Smell Taste Fuck" on her MySpace page. According to Moa, these songs "have never sounded this fucking good ever! My band's gotta be the best band in the word! Kick back and enjoy those lullabyes straight out of my nightmares diary."

MELDRUM is currently in the studio completing work on the follow-up to last year's "Blowin' Up The Machine" CD, tentatively due in the fall.

"Blowin' Up The Machine" was released in Europe in May 2007 on Frontiers Records (it came out in the U.S. in September). MOTÖRHEAD mainman Lemmy Kilmister makes a guest appearance on the track "Miss Me When I'm Gone", for which he wrote the lyrics and co-wrote the music. In addition, Gene Hoglan (STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, TESTAMENT, DEATH, DARK ANGEL) can be heard on four songs, while guitarist Michelle Meldrum's former PHANTOM BLUE bandmate Linda McDonald was responsible for laying down the drum tracks on the rest of the CD.

Hoglan previously played with Meldrum in the '80s thrash outfit WARGOD.
