February 7, 2008

According to Megadeth.com, MEGADETH has topped the Readers' Poll in Japan's Burrn! magazine for the year 2007 in the following categories:

* Best Live In Japan (2007 Japan tour)
* Shining Star (Dave Mustaine)
* Best Tune ("Washinton Is Next!")

The results of the poll are published in the March 2008 issue of Burrn!

A 17-minute version of the interview MTV Finland conducted with MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine on February 4, 2008 prior to the band's concert in Helsinki can be viewed at this location (Windows Media). In this interview, Dave talks about Finland, the TV series "24", charity, new music, lineup changes, LED ZEPPELIN, Jeff Beck and more.

The Helsinki show marked MEGADETH's live debut with new guitarist Chris Broderick (ex-JAG PANZER, NEVERMORE).

The third installment of the U.S. Gigantour — the acclaimed traveling heavy music festival launched in 2005 by Mustaine — will launch April 12 in Denver, CO with headliner MEGADETH, Swedish metal band IN FLAMES, Finland's CHILDREN OF BODOM, Arizona's modern extreme JOB FOR A COWBOY and Oakland, CA heavy power trio HIGH ON FIRE all confirmed. The 29-date trek will criss-cross North America and wraps May 22 in Phoenix, AZ.
