MEGADETH Mainman: Nothing Compares To Being In Front Of An Audience

June 28, 2005

MEGADETH mainman Dave Mustaine has posted the following message in the "Forums" section of the band's official web site:

"Well, we are finally done with the European/U.K. leg of the 'Blackmail the Universe' world tour. This tour was very tough due to routing, scheduling, odd venues, terrible buses, and drivers that would get lost every single day.

"But I must say that when I overlook those matters, nothing compares to being in front of you and playing MEGADETH music. I am feeling the sadness start to sink in knowing that the end of the whole tour is coming soon, but I just have to remember any of your faces and it brightens my mood back up.

"It is now 2 AM-ish and I have to go to the airport at 5AM to fly to meet my family for my vacation, and after saying goodbye to the boys in the band and our teriffic tour staff, I am very excited to see my loved ones.

"We will be back in the states around the second week of July to prepare for the Caldott show and Gigantour, which should be a fantastic time for everyone. Whilst I was overseas, I got to meet up with some of our guests for Gigantour and we are all very stoked to be coming to entertain you.

"And in closing, there was some private matters going on with the last band that I wanted to get, and since I was pretty set on them, when they said yes, and then no, I decided to leave it at nine bands. There will be no band between DREAM THEATER and MEGADETH.

"There will also be added shows from September 4th or so until the 11th and I have asked some old friends to come co-headline if/when DREAM THEATER leaves, and they said yes, so we are just working on the details. I think you will be happy."
