New Renaissance Records is warning people that only 1,000 copies of the CD will be available to the general public, making the release a sure-fire collector's item. After that time the album will be available on iTunes only.

Based in Kalamazoo, Michigan, MEDIEVAL emerged on the metal scene in 1984 by contributing its song "Medieval" to Metal Blade Records' "Metal Massacre IV" compilation series. Response from the compilation appearance prompted New Renaissance to offer the band a full recording contract in 1985, starting with a self-titled 12-inch EP.

In 1986 MEDIEVAL contributed "World War Four" to New Renaissance's "Speed Metal Hell" compilation. A full-length album entitled "Medieval Kills" followed in 1987.

In the 1980s MEDIEVAL was either hated or loved by the metal scene. According to New Renaissance, "Because the band members did not have long hair, let alone 'big hair,' many journalists refused to consider the band 'metal.' For the same reason many of the radio stations' program directors would not pass along MEDIEVAL's albums to the metal shows, and instead considered them as a punk band." Twenty years later, however, MEDIEVAL vinyl albums regularly sell for $100 or more on auction sites.
