MEDICATION 'On Hold', Band Deny Breakup Rumors

January 31, 2003

MEDICATION, the Los Angeles band featuring former MACHINE HEAD/SOULFLY guitarist Logan Mader, ex-UGLY KID JOE/LIFE OF AGONY vocalist Whitfield Crane, ex-ADAYINTHELIFE guitarist Blunt, and ex-THE PIECE DOGS bassist Kyle Sanders, have been officially put on hold as the various members of the group pursue other projects.

"MEDICATION has not toured since Aug. 4 and I can't put my life on hold," Sanders wrote in a recent online posting. "Life's too short. I don't know what the future holds for MEDICATION but there is NO official word of a breakup. People have to keep moving forward and do other things, which is exactly what I'm doing. I don't know anything about Blunt's side thing, [but] I know Logan is producing records for bands, and hell, yeah, I'm pursuing my other project, which will be/IS amazing. MEDICATION has another record in its deal so you never know when or with who it will happen. Blunt has a million awesome ideas/songs. Music will be made, just not sure the formula of which it will be made up."

The band, whose "Prince Valium" full-length debut came out last summer through Locomotive Music, most recently cancelled their European tour amid rumors of internal disagreements and personal differences within the group.

"I admit there were problems within the band, but there was also a huge financial problem within this tour to make it happen," Sanders wrote. "I was never 100% sure this tour would come together. I hoped it would happen but never built it up so high for yet another huge letdown (let this be a lesson for anyone in anything in life)."
