MASTER Pulls Out Of Israel Concert

May 4, 2011

According to the Ov Metal webzine, MASTER the Czech Republic-based death metal veterans led by American musician Paul Speckmann canceled their previously announced May 5 appearance in Tel-Aviv, Israel with MISERY INDEX. Speckmann explained in a statement, "I was the only original member in MASTER while the other musicians were more like 'hired guns.' At the last minute, they decided that they don't want to play [with MASTER] anymore and they don't really care about the band. I'm very sad to announce that in light of this situation, MASTER is dead until I find new bandmembers."

Local grinders VISCERA TRAIL, who are organizing the May 5 concert, extend their apologies to the fans and wish to make it clear that the event will go ahead as planned with MISERY INDEX and THE FADING. In addition, the bands will be joined by local old-school thrashers HAMMERCULT, who recently won the "Metal Battle" competition and will represent Israel at the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany. The promoters have also announced that ticket prices will be reduced to 100 NIS from 169 NIS (at the box office),and anyone who purchased a 139 NIS ticket during the pre-sale can get a full refund or the difference at the event.

The meet-and-greet session with members of MISERY INDEX has not been canceled, and will take place this Wednesday (May 4) at 18:00 at the Metal Shop in Tel-Aviv (Pinsker St. 27).

MISERY INDEX's concert with the local melodic death metal band THE FADING and HAMMERCULT will be held on Thursday, May 5 at 20:00 at the Sublime Club in Tel-Aviv (Solomon Rd. 53). According to the promoters, the bands will play longer sets than usual.
