September 18, 2004

MARILYN MANSON performed his remake of the DEPECHE MODE hit "Personal Jesus" on BBC's "Top Of The Pops" on Friday (Sept. 17). Watch a brief clip from the performance here.

In other news, Marilyn Manson visited "Last Call with Carson Daly" last week to promote his new album "Lest We Forget", due out on Tuesday (Sept. 21). Asked what the thought of the Michael Moore film "Fahrenheit 9/11", Manson replied, "I thought it was inspiring to me that, whether you like his opinion or not, or whether you care what he said or what he didn't say, that it made a lot of people — it inspired a lot of people to talk about things. And that's what art should be. So it was, you know, one of the deciding factors of me making my 'best of.' A chapter closed, new beginning rather than just an end of things. Because when you make a 'best of,' it could be time to stop doing something. But it's hard to be inspired in a media culture where the more successful you become, the more marginal you are. You know, you become more mediocre, more mainstream, obviously."

Alson the Manson front, Marilyn and fiancée Dita Von Teese were photographed leaving the Metropolitan Hotel in London on Wednesday (Sept. 15). Check out pictures from Globe Photos.
