MARDUK: New U.S. Dates Announced

June 19, 2009

Swedish black metallers MARDUK will team up with WITHERED and BLACK ANVIL for the following U.S. dates:

Aug. 12 - Baltimore, MD @ Sonar
Aug. 13 - Philadelphia, PA @ Johnny Brenda's
Aug. 15 - New York, NY @ Gramercy Theatre (w/ TOMBS)

Commented guitarist Morgan Håkansson: "We are excited to finally be over in the States and do these shows after all the problems with the visas. The three shows in August are just the start. We are preparing for a full tour in the winter that will cover all the areas we missed on Blackenedfest. Please join us as we raise the 'Banner Of The Wolf'!"

MARDUK was scheduled to enter Endarker Studios in Norrköping, Sweden last month to begin recording its eleventh album, due before the end of the year via Regain Records. The CD's release will be followed by a world tour, dubbed "Funeral Nation 2009/2010", which will kick off in Europe.

MARDUK's latest album, "Rom 5:12", was released in North America in May 2007 via Regain/Koch.

MARDUK was formed by guitarist Morgan Steinmeyer Håkansson with the goal of becoming the "most blasphemous band in the world." The group's musical style started out as straight-forward, death metal-influenced black metal, but as the years went by progressed into a fast and intense form of black metal.
