MANOWAR Bassist To Speak At Western New York College

February 22, 2011

According to Observer, the music business department of SUNY Fredonia — a four-year comprehensive, public, liberal arts college in Western New York, known for academic programs in the performing arts, education, the natural and social sciences — will welcome Dr. Joey DeMaio, founding member, bassist of the internationally renowned rock and heavy metal band MANOWAR, to campus on Tuesday, February 22 at 6:15 p.m. in McEwen G-24. DeMaio, who is also a composer, lyricist engineer and producer, will speak about his musical and business experiences. The event is free and open to the public.

"DeMaio is an engineer, composer, producer, musician and businessman," says Armand Petri, a visiting instructor within SUNY Fredonia's business department. "Many people know him for his music but don't understand what it took not only to be the musician he has become, but also the international, successful business person he is today. I know those who come see him will be inspired and will have a real excitement listening to a man like Joey."
