MANITOU To Reactivate For Christmas Concert

November 23, 2008

Finnish traditional heavy metal band MANITOU, which features in its ranks members of OMNIUM GATHERUM, MALPRACTICE and KAIHORO, has issued the following update:

"MANITOU will reactivate and do a one-off 'comeback' X-mas gig next month in Kotka, Kairo venue at Kesto-Klubi event on December 20. So be sure to check this one out as the MANI gigs are rare event at the moment!

"We've been doing some new songs a bit and haven't got any hurry with this. We'll be demoing and pre-producing some new songs in the near future and we'll see if that leads to the new MANITOU album in some point when the time is right. We have also a new booking agency — Firebox Agency, and Toni Peltola will handle our booking issues from now on, so we are going to do some gig action in the future for sure. But slowly going onwards.

"So, why it have been so quiet in MANITOU camp: Ismo (bass) and Markku (vocals) breed and got a little boy-kids to their families, Antti (guitar) have studied actively in the weekends — so he should be coming a wise man little by little, Matti (drums) have been working and loving hard now and Markus (guitar) have been doing new albums and touring with his other bands OMNIUM GATHERUM and MALPRACTICE, and is heading again to play an European tour and some Finnish dates in January/February as a stand-in stunt guitarist for Finnish metallers DIABLO."

MANITOU's third album, "No Signs of Wisdom", was released in July 2007 via Metal Heaven. The CD was recorded at SouthEastSounds Studio in Karhula, Finland with producer Teemu Aalto (OMNIUM GATHERUM, SINAMORE) and was mastered at Chartmakers. According to a press release, the new material appeals to fans of "IRON MAIDEN, QUEENSRŸCHE, ANNIHILATOR, DIO, TAROT, WHITESNAKE... Traditional heavy metal, that is!"

MANITOU released its second full-length album, "Deadlock", in March 2006 through Firebox.
