Manager/Ex-Wife Of Producer COLIN RICHARDSON Dies

July 6, 2011

Lora Richardson of Real Productions, the manager and ex-wife of acclaimed British producer Colin Richardson (CARCASS, MACHINE HEAD, NAPALM DEATH, FEAR FACTORY, OVERKILL, TRIVIUM),passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, June 29.

Commented San Francisco Bay Area thrashers FORBIDDEN: "We were stunned by the news that we lost Lora Richardson last week. We'd known Lora since she was a DJ in San Luis Obispo back in 1988. She later went on to working at Combat/Relativity in the early '90s. She married and managed mega-producer/mixer Colin Richardson and they had a beautiful daughter named Sophie, who is now 17. Lora, we will miss you greatly! Love from all of us in FORBIDDEN, past and present."

Dino Cazares of FEAR FACTORY: "[Lora] is the reason why FEAR FACTORY got signed to Roadrunner. She was there from the beginning. I owe a lot of it to Laura for starting my musical career. My heart goes out to her family. I will miss you, Laura."

Monte Conner, Senior VP A&R at Roadrunner Records: "Lora and I go way back to 1987. While we had our occasional disagreements in our business dealings, there was always deep love and respect on both sides in that way, we were like family. Lora would do anything for those she loved for those she considered to be her true friends. A more loyal friend you could not find. The highlight of both our personal and business relationships was when she was my right hand person on the 'Roadrunner United' project. The album could have never been completed on time and so flawlessly if not for her. It was so rewarding for me to be able to bring her onto that project, and to see the incredible pride she took in being involved and triumphing like she did. Having her come to New York to be there for the concert with me in December 2005 was the icing on the cake. It wasn't just 'Roadrunner United' she took such pride in all the projects she was involved in. She really cared. She will be missed by all of us who were fortunate enough to have known her."

Lora's friend Meg Walker is collecting thoughts and condolences for a Facebook memory wall. Send your emails to [email protected].
