MACHINE HEAD's ROBERT FLYNN: New Songs Are “Pissed”

April 15, 2002

MACHINE HEAD frontman Robert Flynn has posted the following message via the band's official web site at www.machinehead1.com:

“ 'Hungover' is the word for the day. I can't say that I didn't enjoy myself last night. Went to see DROWNING POOL, CORN CHAMBER, ILL NIÑO, and 40 BELOW SUMMER, and had a rip-roaring good time, Jesus! DROWNING POOL's tour is sponsored by Jagermeister and Grey Goose Vodka. So it's kinda like, free booze for anyone with a mouth. I tried to stop 'em, they forced me to drink... *cough*.

“Missed 40 BELOW, got there right as the NIÑO went on, they proceeded to blow the roof off the place. What a great band, get the record.

“Quote of the evening goes to the guy who, during a silent moment in COAL CHAMBER's set yelled out 'I like KORN too...'. Classic!!!

“It was cool seeing Meegs and Mikey though. Meegth (pronounced with a lisp) is a good dude.

“Met the DROWNING POOLs, drank all their beer. They're a good bunch, those guys... no, not just cause they gave me beer. Humble as hell, considering how fast they blew up, it was cool to see.

MACHINE HEAD have been taking some time off after wrapping up the surprisingly good Supercharging America tour. Surprising, only because everyone's whining about how bad the economy is... not for Metal.

“Been listening to the rough mixes of the live album, they're smokin'. Although I've come to the conclusion that, I definitely won't be winning the 'Singer of the Year' award. Damn that Grey Goose Vodka.

“Got a couple of new songs already, they are pissed.

“There's a sick remix of 'Supercharger' done by Scrap 60 coming out on a NASCAR soundtrack this Spring...

MACHINE HEAD is doing a festival run over in Europe, including headlining the With Full Force Festival, 'Hell yeah!', doing our first show in Ireland in 5 years, 'Hell Yeah!', and something else I can't even tell you about, 'HELL YEAH!'. It's gonna be fun, very much looking forward to it.”
