MACHINE HEAD: New ROBERT FLYNN Interview To Air On San Jose's 90.5 KSJS

March 15, 2007

An interview with MACHINE HEAD frontman Robert Flynn, conducted on February 24, 2007 at the Santa Cruz, CA stop of the group's U.S. tour with LAMB OF GOD, TRIVIUM and GOJIRA, will air tonight (Thursday, March 15) on the San Jose, California radio station 90.5 KSJS on its weekly underground metal radio show "The Insanitarium", hosted by Madman and Brainthief. In this interview, Flynn discusses his thoughts on MACHINE HEAD's place in the music scene today, what the Internet means for bands, and also sheds light on the band's forthcoming album, "The Blackening".

"The Insanitarium" airs between 10:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. Pacific Time every Thursday night. The Flynn interview will be broadcast during the first hour of the show.

The third and final part of "The Blackening Sessions", a behind-the-scenes look at MACHINE HEAD as they recorded their new album, "The Blackening", has been posted online at the "Media" page of the band's official web site.

A crushingly heavy new MACHINE HEAD song, entitled "Aesthetics of Hate", is available for streaming at the band's MySpace page. The track, which comes off "The Blackening", was inspired by an article called "Aesthetics of Hate: R.I.P. Dimebag Abbott, & Good Riddance". The article, written by William Grim for the conservative web site the Iconoclast, basically kicked fans of the slain PANTERA guitarist while they were down, just days after he was killed onstage. The song is a "fuck you" to Grim, from MACHINE HEAD mainman Robert Flynn.

Due on March 27 via Roadrunner Records (one day earlier internationally),"The Blackening" was recorded at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, CA, with MACHINE HEAD frontman Robert Flynn returning to the producer's chair, and Mark Keaton once again handling engineering duties. Longtime MACHINE HEAD collaborator Colin Richardson (CANNIBAL CORPSE, TRIVIUM, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE) mixed the record in London. The cover artwork for "The Blackening" has been posted online at this location.
